Summer Thyme Berry Spritz

Summer Thyme Berry Spritz

30 mins 4 Ingredients
  • 1/4 cups Fresh Blueberries
  • 1/2 Fresh Lime Juiced
  • 1 Thyme Sprig
  • Sparkling water

Fresh blueberries, lime, thyme, and sparkling water make a bright, bubbly summer drink with plenty of berry flavor and no alcohol or added sugar.

Gently muddling the berries and thyme gives the sparkling water a beautiful purple-red tint while keeping pieces of real fruit in the glass. The thyme adds a subtle herbal note without making the drink taste medicinal. This replaces the confusing “Blueberry Mojito Mocktail” wording currently embedded in the recipe while keeping the actual blueberry-thyme ingredients already attached to Post 3310.

May Help If You’re Feeling

thirsty, overheated, wanting something bubbly, bored with plain water, wanting a festive drink without alcohol

Directions

  1. Divide the blueberries. Add ¼ cup fresh blueberries to each of 2 tall glasses.
  2. Add the lime. Squeeze ½ lime into each glass.
  3. Add the thyme. Place 1 fresh thyme sprig in each glass.
  4. Muddle gently. Use a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon to gently press the berries and thyme several times. You want to release the berry juice and thyme aroma without pulverizing the herbs.
  5. Add ice. Fill each glass generously with ice.
  6. Add the fizz. Slowly pour about 1 cup chilled sparkling water into each glass.
  7. Stir gently. Give each drink a soft stir so the berry juice moves through the sparkling water while keeping as many bubbles as possible.
  8. Serve immediately. Leave a few berries floating in the glass and add a fresh thyme sprig if you want a simple garnish.
